March is National Nutrition Month!

National Nutrition Month ®

March is National Nutrition Month ®! This is an annual observance with an overall goal of encouraging everyone to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits. Each year, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics creates a unique campaign and this year the theme is Celebrate a World of Flavors.

This month is the perfect time to teach your employees, family members, and community that celebrating flavors from cultures around the world is a tasty way to nourish ourselves and appreciate our diversity. This year’s campaign also emphasizes that all humans are unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds and tastes!

Weekly Goals

Just like in previous years, National Nutrition Month is broken down into four specific goals for each week:

Week 1: Eat a variety of nutritious foods each day and start incorporating some of your favorite cultural ingredients and traditions.

Week 2: See a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for help with creating healthy habits that celebrate your heritage and meet your unique needs.

Week 3: Focus on meal planning and prepping to help you with grocery shopping and meeting nutrition goals.

Week 4: Learn new skills to help you create delicious and healthy meals.
