Ann Sabbag, MS

Founder & Chief Strategy Officer

When health educator and coach Ann Sabbag founded Health Designs in 1995, starting a business devoted to employee health assessments, worksite screenings and face-to-face well-being coaching was an expedition into uncharted territory. Fortunately, it was also a chance to create something truly unique and meaningful.

With little money, no entrepreneurial experience and no existing business model, Ann envisioned a warm, high-touch service model that would benefit businesses and help individuals achieve their personal and professional goals. The wellness strategies born from that vision eventually became the gold standard for a now-thriving industry – an industry that Health Designs continues to lead.

Today, the award-winning Health Designs team partners with employers nationwide to enhance employee health and productivity and build a culture of well-being.  In 2018, the company served more than 80,000 employees at nearly 300 companies in every major sector of the economy. And in 2019, Ann sold controlling interest in the business to her ideal successor and took on a new role as Chief Strategy Officer.

Ann’s pioneering achievements in the wellness industry have been recognized by organizations including the U.S. Small Business Administration, which named her “Florida Small Business Leader of the Year” in 2012.  That same year, she was named “Small Business Leader of the Year” by the Jacksonville Chamber Health Council, and received the University of North Florida Outstanding Alumni Award. Other honors include receiving the International ATHENA Leadership Award and being named one of Northeast Florida’s “Ultimate CEOs” by the Jacksonville Business Journal, which also named her a “Woman of Influence.” Health Designs has been recognized with multiple business and industry awards, most recently being designated one of “Florida’s Best Companies to Work For” by Florida Trend Magazine in 2019.

With a bachelor’s degree in Health Education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of North Florida, Ann is a certified Intrinsic Coach who’s completed extended studies in nutrition and behavior change. She serves on numerous community boards and enjoying mentoring. Ann and her husband have two grown children and a farm in North Carolina that she calls her happy place.

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”  — John Wesley
